Have to click back button 2 to 12 times to return to previous page?
My home page is a news site. when i click on any link to view a page and attempt to go back to the home page I have to click the back button 2 to 12 times to return to the main page. If I right click to view the recent history I find multiple instances of the same page shown. Even though I only clicked once to view a story. Clicking the back button takes me back through the multiple listings one by one until I return to the home page. Two mozilla updates have been installed since the start of this frustrating problem. Nothing has changed.

Hi, if you care the updates do have a reason and are always shown on the update popup and can view current info from Help --> About. They are always listed here : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/releases/
Please check that Options --> Privacy and Security --> Permissions has a Check Mark in the box to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
- Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
- On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.
Sounds like a web page that continually loads more and more data as the user scrolls down a very long "web page", and each time more data is loaded Firefox see's each loading as another webpage. Getting more and more common every day as websites come out with new HTML5 pages to display their content. Saves loading time on the initial load to make the page available for use much faster. The thing that users do see on most page like that is as the scroll bar approaches what looks like the end of the page all of a sudden the scroll bar moves up and the "bar" gets incrementally shorter. Pages like that drive me nuts! I see it on the Chicago Tribune website and the LA Times website; and on both the information seems to be repeated the longer the page gets, rearranged a bit at times, but the same information all over again.
