How can I stop Firefox from using various Helvetica fonts?
Few days ago I've installed a bunch of Helvetica fonts on my PC, just to use them in various graphic programs. Lately I've discovered that Firefox keeps trying to use them on every website possible (for example Netflix). It annoys me greatly and I really want to get rid of it. What's important is that it happens randomly.
I've tried changing font settings in Firefox and to my suprise it worked, but not in the exact way I wanted. I turned off the permission for sites to use their own font, which resulted in default fonts like Times New Roman and Arial to appear everwhere. Also I checked browserspy.dk/fonts-flash.php to find out which versions of Helvetica I have installed in my browser. I've found that Firefox uses versions of Helvetica which are NOT on the list. Uninstalling fonts through Windows Settings doesn't help either.
My point is that I want to allow sites to use their custom fonts, while getting rid of Helvetica.

You can check the Font tab in the Inspector to see what (Helvetica) font Firefox is using.

Thanks for the advice! It seems that Firefox is using Helvetica Neue Bold/Thin. However these fonts are not displayed in settings, both on Windows and Firefox. What should I do to stop these fonts from popping up in random places?

OKAY I SOLVED THE PROBLEM (for now)
I have found Helvetica fonts in Windows Registry and deleted them. I think this worked, but I'm not sure. At least for now I got rid of them. I'll post again if something screws up again.
Anyway thanks!
i think " it might be late for that " but uninstalling a facility for your pc won't simply put things back to normal , as before me has said. just for future reference and people who want solid points without a lot of scrolling..
Hi Tardalorn, since Helvetica Neue looks terrible in Firefox for Windows, for some reason that I can't remember, there have been some workarounds over the years to override sites using that font. Here's an ancient example: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1089469 -- that may not cover all the variants, such as bold
