How do I get rid of message preview panel, don't want to see it just because its highlighted.

I don't want to see a message until I click to open it. Right now whatever message is highlighted is displayed in the preview panel weather I want to open it or not.

The Message Pane toggles on and off by pressing the F8 key. Viewing a message in the Message Pane is not a preview. It opens the message just as it would if you open it in a new tab or window. Single click a message when the Message Pane is showing and the message opens. Double click a message and it opens in a tab or window depending in the preference you have set.
