NY Times Crosswords do not download in PDF
Chrome downloads the NY Times crossword in PDF. Firefox doesn't open or download it. WHY?

Make sure you are not blocking content.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Hmm, I think accessing the crossword requires a subscription, so this is a bit difficult to test.
NOPE...nothing different. Maybe I'll ask NYT about compatability with Firefox.
You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages about blocked content and about the presence of mixed or unsafe content.
You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.
If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.
Thanks for all the help, but my solution is easy. Use CHROME.
Would it be possible to get a minimal working example? Could you report the results if you were to try and open a PDF that we could all access? Try to open one locally, etc? Firefox has a PDF viewer built in. It would be a shame to see someone leave and go to chrome over something like this.
Attached is screenshot of puzzle page. No matter which puzzle form I try to print, all this screen does is “blink” and stay the same.
The puzzle file online is a .puz format and when printing, it works just fine in CHROME, EDGE and IE.
Yes...It would be nice to know how to make it print in Firefox.
I set the printer for default PDF output as well as its Brother mode...no difference. Nothing prints.
So... hitting print results in nothing? Puzzle files seem to need an external program to open (https://fileinfo.com/extension/puz). Perhaps in the other browsers it successfully opens them. You could try resetting the MIME type application it opens. You could go to about:preferences and scroll down to "Applications." See if you can find a MIME type of puz and see if you can remap it to open with whatever program you use for puzzle files.
Answer is attached. I also see others with NYT problems and Firefox.
I see... so it's designed to run inside of Google chrome, IE, or other on their end, then. NYT themselves has a guide to opening puz files outside of the browser: https://archive.nytimes.com/www.nytimes.com/content/help/games/acrosslite/download/litsoft.html (not a guide, but a link). You could use this and just tell firefox to open .puz files with that if you'd like.
