I accidentally deleted a huge chunk of my history with "delete page/forget about this site", fat fingers! Is it possible to recover this history using sync?

thanks

Hi,

Ok, I connected my laptop and sync'd, it worked, I managed to recover 96% of my lost history. I think that "delete this page" and "forget about this site" should be separated or colour coded to reflect the importance of what you are engaging in.

Nerve-wrecking moment to be sure, thank you for your help.

regards

Hi

Have you synced your data to another copy of Firefox?

Hi,

I have a laptop with the same websites' content, but I am afraid that when I connect it to sync, sync will remove it from the laptop also, that would be catastrophic. It contains so much music tutorials and general info related to school/work.

Using Sync to sync history has some limits and history expires in 60 days (uploading new history is for 30 days).

You can possibly check if you have previous version of places.sqlite in the Firefox profile folder. Location used for the main profile that keeps your personal data (Root Directory on about:profiles), AppData is a hidden location.

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>

You can check in Windows File Explorer if a previous version of the places.sqlite file is available.
