How to remove an account you've closed from your computer
I have several email accounts and I've closed one, but can't seem to remove it from Thunderbird!

- click 'account settings' - highlight the account to be removed - slightly below the accounts on left side of pane is 'Account Settings. click the 'remove account' option.
