Numbers are randomly being converted to letters on data entry for some banking sites. Often have to entere data several times to get it correct. Not happening when using Internet Explorer. Any Ideas ?

On NatWest and Nationwide banking sites (UK) numbers are being corrupted to lower case letters on data entry forms. e.g First few characters are OK then letters 63524abcd. Re-entering the data can clear the problem, make take two or three tries to get the data entered. The problem is serious when the characters are not displayed back only ****. Then you don't know if it is correct or not. I have been locked out of my account twice now even though I know I have entered the correct data !! Any ideas anyone ?
