When I write an email, I often include a website address or email address. These used to be links in blue and clickable. Now they only show as text. What happened? I checked on a rival system (sorry!) and the addresses show up in blue and are clickable, so maybe it's something in Firefox? Or something I did?

You should try upgrading your version of Firefox to the latest one (12) and see how it goes. Let me know in a reply.

Thanks. Tried FF 12, don't seem to have it solved yet, but appreciate your quick response.

Just above the textarea that you use to enter the message text on the "Compose New Mail page" there is usually a button bar with buttons to add text formatting like Bold and Italic.
That toolbar may also have a button to turn a text link into a clickable hyperlink (look for a chain like button).
You can select the text and click that button to turn the link into a clickable hyperlink.
If you can't find the button then hover them all to check the tooltip of each (e.g. Insert hyperlink).
