Twitter.com is loading slowly. Hmm, this seems to be taking a while. If problems persist, please reload to try again.
I've updated all relevant plug-ins and also restarted with add-ons disabled and problem remains. Firefox 12.0 stalled for a period then hanged at this time then a screen appeared showing a screen with system dump, I think it was. Rebooted everything and problem with Twitter showed itself. Everything else appears to work fine. Twitter problem does not occur in IE8.
I'm tempted to re-install Firefox but don't want to lose my tabs in TooMany Tabs and also my old saved sessions. Will these things happen if I do re-install and is it likely to be a successful remedy?

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

A problem with the places.sqlite file could cause such a problem, but it is always hard to tell in advance what works. It can also be prefs saves in prefs.js. It is usually best to only copy the minimum that you need to the new profile and see if it works.
If you have a problem with the places.sqlite file (bookmarks and history) then it is best to restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
