Everytime I open Mozilla Firefox I get an extra window opening up that says "Yahoo Mail" and offering me the chance to say my user name and password.I dont want to do that and I got sick of having to keep on closing it everytime I started up,which is why I changed browsers.I would like to use Firefox again but if I cant find a way of stopping that little window opening its not going to happen.

I can think of two reasons this might happen.

First, you can have multiple tabs set for your home page. To edit your home page setting, see this article: How to set the home page.

Second, you might have an add-on that checks your mail for you, e.g., to monitor new messages. This might appear in a toolbar, status bar, etc. Do you have a Yahoo toolbar or other toolbar that might check your mail?

Edit: On that second point, you can review and disable extensions here:

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.

Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).
