I recently purchase a new computer with Window 8. What a mess of an OS, what happen to common sense? Anyway, I downloaded Firefox instead of using explorer.

If you want to take only bookmark backup, try this

  • Goto Firefox Menu > Bookmarks > Show All Bookmark > Import/Export Bookmark > Export your bookmark.
