Conduit
Look for a file called 'search protect' in Control Panel -> Uninstall and uninstall it. It does the opposite of what it says it will.

Hi,
Could you clarify what you're trying to do - uninstall Conduit from Firefox or make a complaint about their uninstallation process?
Thanks!
Curtis
Oops -trying to get rid of Conduit which has hijacked my newtab in Firefox. Uninstalling 'search protect' worked briefly, but now it's back. Have run Malwarebytes, iobit, and some others without success. Free version of Spyhunter identifies Conduit, but costs $40 to get rid of it - guess I'll try that next unless you have a solution.
Here's another article about getting rid of Conduit Search Protect.

I don't think that SpyHunter is a necessity. AdwCleaner and MalwareBytes should get rid of it, once you remove the "virus carrier" and clean the Registry.
Notice that the 2nd step to removing Conduit is uninstalling BrotherSoft Extreme2 B1 Toolbar, Search Protected by conduit, Conduit Apps Toolbar from Control Panel > Programs -> Programs and Features --> Uninstall or change a program.
The program that "carried" Conduit into your PC might be named anything, so you need to look at anything "free" (and now-a-days even "paid for") that you installed just before Conduit appeared in Firefox (or IE or Chrome, if you use those browsers, too). If you don't remove the "carrier", Conduit will re-install itself after a restart or a cold boot the next day. Conduit helps so called developers monetize their "programs" via kick-backs for referring searches to Conduit.
