Firefox won't start after download and update
I have win 7. I uninstalled Firefox and downloaded it again. The icon appears but the program won't start. I am so used to Firefox and don't want to use IE.
I get a few messages:
XML Parsing Error: undefined entity Location: chrome://mozapps/content/extensions/update.xul Line Number 14, Column 1:
<wizard <="" ^="" id="updateWizard" p=""></wizard>
I also get a message: "There is no disk in the drive-insert a disk into drive/device/hard disk4/dr4
I uninstalled Firefox several times , still no luck
I hope you can help me resolve this problem.

Try using System Restore and go back to the day you never had issues.
Open start menu and type in System Restore, and it will list some dates choose the date you didnt have issues on.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
- Download the full Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
- Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- (32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
- It is important to delete the Firefox program to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.
It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I am still not able to open Mozilla.

any help in creating a new profile?

Can you start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift/Options key?
You can use one of these to start Firefox in Safe Mode:
- On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
- On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
- Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
I did a restore system back to when Firefox was running OK.
Now I get a message "couldn't load xpcom"
I also cannot uninstall Firefox - the uninstall in Control panel doesn't work.
Please help with the error message above and with the uninstall.
Thanks
Using System Restore can cause your Firefox installation to get corrupted because only files in a white-list are restored, so be cautious with using System Restore. You also likely lose data in the Firefox profile folder like .js and .ini files.
In your case you seem to have reverted some files in the Firefox program folder to earlier version from before an update.

Well I use system restore to an earlier date in May.
Then I uninstalled all Mozilla files and then I reinstalled Mozilla 29.0.1 and
now my Firefox Mozilla is working fine with all info in my profile intact.
Thank you
