How can I stop the little pictures (icons??) and the firefox ball from bouncing all around the middle of the start page, which is my home page (?) It's VERY ANNOYING and DISTRACTING!

Hello,

You can simply change your home page. For doing that, please follow below instructions.

  1. Click on menu and go to "Options". A pop up window will open.
  2. In that popup window, Click on "General"
  3. Then write a address of a page in the box you would like to see as homepage.
  4. Then press Ok

If you prefer not to see snippets on the about:home page then you can set the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to an empty string on the about:config page.

Delete the storage\moz-safe-about+home folder in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to remove snippets stored in IndexedDB and make Firefox use a default set.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

You can reset the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to the default value to re-enable the snippets.
