i go to the menu and click on customize toolbar then click on title bar and drag the forecast fox to either the add on toolbar or top tool bar it shows that it is there but when I try to exit customize toolbar nothing happens. If I have more windows with Firefox open they all stay at the customize toolbar window.

Can you close out of the Customize tab the way you normally close a tab, for example:

  • Click the small x on the tab
  • Ctrl+w

If that closes the tab without saving your change, perhaps there is a glitch with that specific customization. Do other changes work?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can also check for problems with preferences.

Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.
