my new messages keep unmarking as read

when i get a new message it comes in as unread. after it sits there for a bit (as the amount of time this takes is not constant) the new messages then automaticaly unmark them as new and i cant find my unread messages.

You mean the new messages keep getting marked as read even when you have not read them? Do you have any message filters set up? That is the only thing I can find that would do something like that.

no there was no filters set up. i turned off the setting that even automatically marks them as read when you have read them. i then deleted the profile folder entirly. then uninstalled thunderbird. then reinstalled it and setup the email again and it still does it. i thought something else might be acessing it doing it so i changed my password and its still doing it.
