Firefox is forcing me to upgrade

I have Firefox 28 and in the option i have selected "Never check for updates" but every time i start my PC Firefox update it self. Why is this happening? I don't want to update to Firefox 29 or 30. It is not enough that the new upgrades are full of crap but now it forcing me to update.

Did you un-check "Use a background service to install updates"?

I don't have this option on my Firefox. I guess it is because i am using portable Firefox.
