Firefox eventually ignores my typing and keyboard commands, even in Safe Mode. How do I fix this?

I'm on a MacBook with Yosemite 10.10.3. Firefox 37.0.1.

I'll be browsing along and after a few minutes and several pages, I can no longer use my keyboard to communicate with Firefox. I can't open new tabs with keyboard commands, and typing in text boxes is no longer possible.

Restarting Firefox fixes it for a short time, but then it starts up again.

Restarting in Safe Mode didn't help.

Please advise.

This still happens with Firefox in Safe Mode?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?

It didn't happen when my computer was in safe mode for an hour or so.

That means one of the other programs on your computer is the cause.

Open the options on all of your protection programs, and tell them to leave the browses alone.

Check the programs that are on your computer

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Go thru the list. If you find something that you don't know what it is, use a web search.
