After installing firefox, it flashes on and off about every 6 seconds.
I downloaded and installed firefox and restarted the computer. When I click on firefox, it starts with my home page, stays on the screen for about 3 seconds, goes away and then comes back on the screen in about 3 seconds. This sequence continues over and over.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

After the above;
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
Starting Fire Fox in Save Mode and then going to "Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues" and following the instructions there solved the problem.
