After cache & cookies were cleared, FF still hangs after trying these suggestions.

I foolishly cleared my cache & cookies in FF. Immediately, FF began not responding. Had to force quit. FF will now only open to my home page, any attempted action results in "hanging" (the spinning beach ball. I tried the suggestions on this site. As I can access Mozilla only via Safari, I cannot use any of the suggested links such as Refresh. I even trashed FF & tried a new download, then restart — problem remained. Please help in any way you can, I do not like using Safari.

Hi qbf,

Even after a clean reinstall? Ok try this, clear the cache in other browsers as well. And try to start Firefox with the profile manager and create a new profile. Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
