We have to keep deleting and re-installing Thunderbird in order for our new emails to appear. Can someone point me in the right direction as to what may fix it?

We will be working on our emails through Thunderbird and then if we log out and come back to it, we have to delete Thunderbird and re-install it for the new emails to appear. It is intermittent and there is no pattern to when it happens.

Having to uninstall/reinstall Thunderbird program just to make it run does not sound correct.

re :if we log out and come back to it.

Log out of what? Please explain more clearly what you are talking about.

Do you mean you have Thunderbird running and you log out of your computer 'User Account' without closing Thunderbird ?

Thunderbird is a program that runs when you select it to run. You do not log on or log off to use it.

Do you mean you lose internet connectivity

Check to see if Thunderbird has gone into 'offline' mode. There would be a two black screen icon in the bottom left of Status Bar if in 'offline' mode. Left click on the two black screen icon to return to 'online' mode. Icon will change to a two blue screen icon when in online mode.
