Recently my business facebook page lost its 'share' buttons. This is a problem with a lot of other people's business pages and we cannot figure out why. However, when I log in via other devices such as Ipad or phone the 'share' buttons are there. It apparently is only affecting my laptop which is Windows 8.1. I refreshed Firefox, but, that didn't help. Someone suggested reloading this browser. I wonder if you have any other suggestions...

It is also suggested usually to try to disable a firewall/antivirus temporarily. However I might try a new profile if those do not work because something could be changed in the cache or Firefox install.

  1. First try to open about:permissions
  2. Search for the site that it is happening for
  3. Click on the site and then "Forget this site" - warning it will clear all preferences, cookies, and logins for this site.

Firefox 42+ has a Tracking Protection feature that is enabled by default in Private Browsing mode. When you are in private browsing mode then Firefox can show a shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar that some content is affected.

You can disable this feature in "Options/Preferences > Privacy" or via the about:privatebrowsing page that get when you open a New Private Window.

  • Options/Preferences > Privacy: "Use Tracking Protection in Private Windows"
