I can't open link and/or pictures in my emails.

I have changed the privacy setting to "Allow Remote Content", but website links contained and highlighted in my emails will not open a browser. Also, picture links will not open.

That sounds like either an operating system issue (check that you have a default browser or an anti virus program being over helpful.
