Whenenever I use 'move' to move a group of emails from a search, Thunderbird makes three unread copies in the local folder. How do I stop this?
I have a large set of local folders in which I file my historic emails. But whenever I use 'search' to find a group of emails within my Inbox, or indeed from any local folder source, then use 'move' to move them into the appropriate local folder, I find that Thunderbird has not only moved the emails in question, its has copied them in triplicate, and these unwanted copies are marked as 'unread'. So, if I move 10 emails, I will have to delete 30 unnecessary copies.
It is extremely frustrating and time consuming, and has prevented me keep my email filing up to date.

Try using filters that you run manually on your inbox That way you only have to set up your search -criteria ones and you can high-light and run all at ones.
