Thunderbird windows don't show up on computer screen, like "reply" or "write" windows ... but they show under windows tab.

No matter what I click from the Thunderbird page, be it "reply", "write" or opening up the details of a calendar event, the Thunderbird window just lights up, but doesn't pop up the window for the action. If I did this 5 times, then quite a while later, 5 of them will pop up behind all my other windows. These screens show up under the "Windows" tab, but they don't show up on my monitor. What's going on? I run a Mac OSX El Capitan btw. Can't tell you what version of TB it is either because that info ALSO won't show up. Frustrating.

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try the following:

Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
