Hi,

I can't figure out why one particular cookie from my bank's website does not set the expiration date when I have the setting set to "Keep until they expire". This particular cookie helps remember my device so I don't have to go through 2 factor authentication each time I login to view my bank account. On my work computer the cookie shows "Expires: Friday, January 01, 2100 12:00:01 AM" but on my personal computer it says "Expires: At end of session". My Firefox settings are identical from my work computer to my personal computer so i cant understand why it doesn't want to set an expiration date on my personal computer? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Thank you, John

Do you have any extension installed that deal with cookies or use a program like CCleaner?

Note that Firefox or a website also can store data in local storage as possibly as a Flash cookie. Also note that cookies expire automatically when you are in Private Browsing mode.

If you had previously created cookies for this websites, but hadn't selected "Keep until they expire" then Firefox might still be using the old setting.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks and history and cookies and passwords and cache and exceptions, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

Can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
