i believe the gnu/linux manual "man firefox" is wrong

"man firefox" on lubuntu 16.04 with default installed firefox "firefox -v => Mozilla Firefox 53.0" says "-private

Start firefox in private browsing mode"

but i only managed to create a command line to open firefox in private with "firefox -private-window " according to "firefox -private-window"

I also used "-url "about:privatebrowsing""

there is no mention to -url in the "man firefox"

Not too sure what your problem is but it seems to work as expected. You need to place the url after the option. From a CLI

firefox -private http://example.com

works for me to open the url in a private mode window.

I note from http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/xenial/en/man1/firefox.1.html It explains:

SYNOPSIS
      firefox [OPTIONS] [url]
....
OPTIONS

...

     -private
Start firefox in private browsing mode
