Recently Thunderbird removed all my 5 email accounts without notice. I was able to reinstate 2 accounts but need a third at least. Thunderbird refuses to reinstate the third. I would hate to abandon Thunderbird but I do need to have all my accounts in one place.

Do you run ccleaner?

What precisely do you see that you interpret as "refuses"?

yes, I run ccleaner regularly

when I tried to reinstate a third mail account, Thunderbird offered me instead new email addresses both for free and also for fees but I can't use the email address I had used before for I don't know how many years

The advice you'll get from the regulars on this forum is not to use CCleaner on Thunderbird. CCleaner will damage your profile.

Go to File|New|Existing Mail Account and fill in the details for your account. Do NOT click on "get a new account".
