Yahoo loads slowly and when it does it is all vertical with no pictures; troubleshooting said to set documents_use_colors to true, but that's not there.

Some web pages load slowly. Flash seems up-to-date. I tried refreshing Firefox and safe mode, with only sporadic improvement. Also deleted history etc. per suggestion to no avail. Typed about:config in address bar, following troubleshooting suggestions, but the suggested config is not there. Using Windows Vista.

When multi-process windows in Firefox is enabled then Firefox will use more memory and may be less responsive.

You can try this to see if it has effect:

  • set dom.ipc.processCount to 1 if it is currently set to a higher value (4)
  • disable multi-process windows in Firefox

You can disable multi-process windows in Firefox by setting these prefs to false on the about:config page.

  • browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false
  • browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false

You can open the about:config page: via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks and history and cookies and passwords and cache and exceptions, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Tried the suggestions, but no change. Why is it only Yahoo that has problems? Other sites like Netzero function normally.
