Cannot send emails on a tiscali account + cannot send or receive emails on gmail account
Can receive emails, but unable to send emails on a tiscali (Talktalk) account Unable to send/receive emails on a gmail account I have tried removing & reinstalling Thunderbird, removing and reinstating the affected accounts, checked all settings and compared with a similar working account. I have also tried turning my firewall off, to no avail.

What happens when you attempt to send/receive? Do you get any error message?
Please post your Troubleshooting Information.
At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button 
, then select Help > Troubleshooting Information.
Press the "Copy text to clipboard button" and paste the information into your reply.

I have done this. When trying to send a new mail, I receive an error message advising that the connection to the smtp server has timed out.
