Force desktop site on firefox quantum for android

The old extension I used to force desktop site to load has not been updated to work with quantum, and the user agent string override suggested in the old support thread didn't seem to have any effect. Is there an extension that works with quantum or something I can edit in about:config to enable this behaviour again?

Hi, you can click on the Firefox Menu, and then click Request Desktop Site as a workaround until the add-on gets ported.
