hi, thunderbird crashes randomly on one of my installs ... the crashes are random and could occur seconds or hours in between ... here is a sample crash report: (p.s. disabled the testpilot addon after the crash, but the problem persisted)

Another possibility is mwsock.dll is infected. See https://www.file.net/process/mswsock.dll.html
aha! thanks ... will try this first thing tomorrow
hi wayne,
replacing mwsock.dll didn't work and we finally got a chance to format the machine and upgrade to thunderbird 52.
but, thunderbird again started crashing and mswsock.dll is the only dll mentioned in the new crash report as well -> https://pastebin.com/8eaUgXnc
the new crash report also mentioned lightning, which we then removed but the crash continued.
any clue?
