My Firefox keeps hanging & crashing as of 1/11/18. I've un/reinstalled 5x, cleaned disk space & rebooted. It's the only app I have this issue with. Help!
As noted, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times but I get the same results. Every time I launch the app, it hangs and then crashes. I'm not in the app long before it hangs so I can't do a refresh or anything else. I have the atest version of Firefox. I'm not having this issue with any other app or program on my laptop. This has only been an issue for a day. I've had to resort to using Chrome or Edge which I don't want to do. Please help! Thank you.

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

Hi, thank you for responding. I'm trying to get you the information but every time I type the command in the address bar it hangs and crashes. Each time I launch the browser I only have less than 10 seconds before it hangs. If it helps, I have submitted crash reports each time this happens. I'll keep trying. Any other suggestions? Thank you.
Thanks but no. The crash reports are sent elsewhere.
Please try this way to uninstall : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.4 with a Full Version Installer
Please : go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security panel and under Permissions check (put a tick in the box) the setting to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.
Monitor in Task Manager. Should stay below 2 gigs. If excessive then do below and monitor and change if need to...Test and go up again , go back down, it will eventually get a zone you and it can live with.
Go to the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 Restart Firefox after making these changes please.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
If you can't get Firefox to open, you will have to do this the hard way.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mozillacrashreporter Open the file browser / explorer on your computer. Note: You may have to enable Show Hidden Folders / Files. Enter this in the address bar;

Copy the most recent 5-7 File Names in the folder. Post the information in the reply box.
@FredMcD thank you. Using your alternative suggestion I was able to get the last several crash reports.

Thank you again!
@Pkshadow thank you also! I did as you instructed. Unfortunately results were the same. It took several attempts to be able to get Firefox to stay open long enough to check prevent accessibility option but as well as uncheck performance options. All Firefox does is hang and crash.
I'm open to other suggestions. Thank you very much!
are you able to bring up the safemode window by pressing the shift-key while launching firefox and refresh it from there?

@FredMcD thank you very much! I'm not a very technical person. Can you please translate your response? Again much appreciated!
