So I wound up updating Windows 10 recently and some stuff on my computer stopped working correctly. A comparatively minor, but still unresolved, issue is that anything requiring WebGL just won't run in Firefox anymore.

I've disabled hardware acceleration and tried refreshing Firefox but neither of those have fixed it.

It can't be my graphics card or driver as WebGL functioned properly prior to when this Windows 10 update happened and my driver is as up to date as can be.

Currently I'm at a loss as to what to try.

WebGL (Web Graphics Library) is a JavaScript API for rendering interactive 2D and 3D graphics within any compatible web browser without the use of plug-ins.

My problem is that even though Firefox supports WebGL I get the error that WebGL is unsupported. Going to webgl.org gives me an error that reads "Hmm. While your browser seems to support WebGL, it is disabled or unavailable. If possible, please ensure that you are running the latest drivers for your video card."

As my video card drivers have recently been updated I'm certain that's not the problem.

Hi, separate security issue, please update your Flash 27.0 r0 Flash Player Version: 29.0.0.171 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Note have been surprised today 2x's with people updating Flash and seemingly unrelated problems are fixed.

Please go through all of your Video Card Controls as often find that something is turned off and that is turned off WebGL will not work. Think it is COMPOSITING, do not ask me I do not use openGL so never figured it out.

Since updated windows please try this to fix any registry errors or corrupted files : Use the Windows key + X keyboard shortcut to open the Power User menu and select Command Prompt (Admin). Type or Copy/Paste the following command and press Enter: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Reboot after.

This may come as a shock but you may not be running your drivers that you think you are as Windows 10 can and will replace all hardware device drivers with their own Microsoft drivers. Please Search for Device Manager and check your Video Card Drivers to make sure not running a 2006 driver.

Fyi : current version of Firefox is 60.0.1 and shows here as 60 so please check or update by 3 Bar Menu --> Help --> About

See if can make anything happen with checking drivers, repairing and research Compositing turned off for your Card.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I know I should have volunteered this information prior but I DID test Microsoft Edge and WebGL works just fine in that browser. While I DID update my drivers for my graphics card (which incidentally just released an update on the 24th) the problem is that FIREFOX will not run WebGL. My computer can run WebGL in other browsers but Firefox will not for some unspecified reason.

You can check the graphics section on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page for WebGL related messages.

Checking about:support gives me an error for both webgl driver renderers that reads:"WebGL creation failed: * Error during ANGLE OpenGL init. * Exhausted GL driver caps."

Restarting Firefox in safe mode has both listed as disabled and even going to about:config and toggling webgl.force-enabled to true does nothing.
