Search in page forwards to Google search

I have Firefox installed on Mac. When pressing [Command+F] to search contents of the current page, a search bar appears, but it performs search in Google instead. The settings I found only allow to search in different engines, Wikipedia, ebay, Twitter etc.

The page search [Command+F] is separate from the search engines. One should not be calling the other.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Occasionally you might find a site that intercepts Command+f (on Windows, Ctrl+f) and captures your query into their own search bar, and then they may use Google site-targeted search to get the results. But that's very unusual. If you see this often, perhaps one of your add-ons is changing how Find works... strange.
