The link you sent me says "works with TB v 58-65. But it doesn't for me.

As I understand it, the latest version of TB is 60.2.1. issued 2 days ago is 32-bit WIN. No 64 bit WIN10 version is available.

I must be missing something. How can FSTC be compatible with TB v65 if v60.2.1. is the latest.

The non-working FSTC add-on automatically shows as "disabled by Mozilla".

Web comment suggests Mozilla has issued TB updates before UAT checking / allowing the third-party amendments to be added to ensure FSTC runs. Are you running TB v 60.2.1 successfully with FSTC and have you closed and restarted TB since October 3 2018 ?

I have no problem. I am running 60.2.1 and https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/theme-font-size-changer-fixed/

Remove all other variations of the addon.

Another (perhaps unlikely) possbility is some other addon you have installed is interfering

Thank you, I am grateful for your suggestions.

I've removed the earlier version of FS&TC. From today Mozilla had disabled it anyway - telling me it was doing so because FS&TC was incompatible with v60.2.1.

Mozilla also is preventing me from downloading FS&TC from the URL you kindly provided. A red banner appears on my screen saying " FS&TC could not be installed because it is not compatible with Thunderbird 60.2.1" - I'd like to attach a screen shot of that screen. But when I try to attach it here, I get "uploaded images" then I get the starburst-buffering dialogue box for 20 minutes (so far). So I can't.

TFSC (fixed) is working here in TB 60.2.1, but I have switched the preference extensions.strictCompatibility to false in Tools/Options/Advanced/General/Config. editor (double-click a preference to toggle its value, OK to close Options). Some add-ons claim to be 'compatible' with TB 60, but clearly they are either not 'strictly' compatible and require the preference to be switched, or they can be installed without the switch but fail to work anyway (e.g. Manually Sort Folders).

In this case we shouldn't need to recommend workarounds using extensions.strictCompatibility nor css, because we know the replacement add-on installs and works for other users. IMO we should focus on determining why the install fails for this user, so we can fix it for everyone.

to be clear https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/theme-font-size-changer-fixed/ is version compatible with 60.0 without extensions.strictCompatibility, and I and at least one other person successfully installed it in version 60.2.1

I'm making some progress. Might be filing a bug report.

Today October 6, 2018, I installed a fresh copy of Thunderbird 60.2.1. But then red banners warned me that the FS&TF (and ImportExportTools) add-ons were both not compatible with Thunderbirds 60.2.1.

Shall I try to reset my profile? - er how would do that please ?

I do get exactly the wording of the pale yellow-golden error message above. But when I click "Allow" this then gives me the red warning banner message "x couldn't be installed because it is not compatible with Thunderbird 60.2.1

Since the October 2, 2018 auto upgrade to TBv60.2.1 the above messages happen with all the Add-Ons that previously worked for me - (1) Font Size and Theme Changer, (2) Remove Duplicate Messages and (3) ImportEXportTools.

I attach JPGs of screen prints about ImportEXportTools as an example. All three Add-Ons have been auto-disabled by Thunderbird and give me the same error messages when I try to download again and Add them.

I have screen prints of the other examples (1) and (3) but I am only able to add 2 JPGs at a time here.

I am baffled because the Add Ons are presumably working well for many other folks,

May I update you on my further testing:

When I look at the Thunderbird Add-Ons page, the Up and Coming Panel shows Add-Ons that users may use. If I try to load any, I have to click "Allow" then this happens, for example:

CustomiseMyBird or DKIM Verifier - I get dialogue box "Software Installation" that I think will seamlessly load CmB or DKIM.

But for the three other Add Ons I've mentioned earlier I do not get a Software Installation dialogue box. Instead I get through "Allow" then I see a Red banner saying Add cannot be installed as it's not compatible with TBv60.2.1
