I've installed Thunderbird and pointed it at my NTLWorld email account which I've had for years. Thunderbird has pulled in 15 days worth of messages from the inbox and none from the sent box. How do I suck in all the data from that account so I don't need to keep logging into it to read old emails?

Depends upon the type of mail account. Pop mail accounts can only access and download emails from the server Inbox.

Workaround to get 'Sent' mail stored on server into Thunderbird: In pop mail account, If 'Sent' folder is not displaying then send one email to someone to get Sent auto created.

Logon to webmail account using a browser and move emails from server 'Sent' folder into server 'Inbox' then in Thunderbird, click on 'Get Messages' to download them. finally move those emails into the 'Sent' folder.

If you are using IMAP: You need to subscribe to see the 'Sent' folder, Right click on imap mail account in folderpane and select 'Subscribe' In list that appears, select/highlight the 'Sent' folder and click on 'Subscribe'. Click on OK.

What type of mail account are you using Pop or IMAP ? If IMAP have your subscribed to see Sent' and is it visible in the imap mail account in Folder Pane?
