How can I detect deleted attachments without having to click on individual messages?
I would like to delete attachments in older messages so I don't have to use too much disk space. I understand that I can click in the lower-right corner of a message and choose to delete the attachments. But once I do, it would be nice for the icon under the "attachments" column to indicate this, perhaps with a broken or partial paperclip. I tried looking for addons that would do this, and I tried searching forums for something like this, but I can't find any solutions.
Are there ways to quickly scan all the messages in a folder and determine which ones have had their attachments deleted?
Thanks!

There is an extension that does just that: https://bitbucket.org/alta8888/attachmentcount/wiki/Home

One simple way would be to show messages with attachments using the Quick Filter Bar, then enable the Size column. Messages with attachments that are detached or deleted show the size without the attachments. You could also create a custom view which filters a folder with Attachment Status + has attachments & Size + is less than + 10KB. Right-click the Mail Toolbar and drag the Views icon onto the bar, then create a new view as in the attached picture.
