Why does my search keep changing to Yahoo?

more options

About once a week, my default browser search changes itself to Yahoo and I have to go into Preferences and manually change it back to Duck Duck Go. I have tried all the suggestions in the other answers to this question. I do not have any Yahoo extensions or anything suspicious. I have searched my entire computer for "Yahoo" and find nothing. I do not have a folder for Firefox, or any preferences file, only the application itself. I am on a Mac so Windows answers don't help me.

It's very possible that you have malware on your computer. Can you download Malwarebytes from www.malwarebytes.com and run a full scan? Remove anything it finds.

Also remove SafeSearch, SearchAssist Incognito, FileConverter Addon, SearchLock, DiscreteSearch, WebSearch, Findwide Search Engine, securedsearch

Now do the same in the computer’s Programs Folder.

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the Applications folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Malwarebytes did find a few things and I removed them. Time will tell if this solves the Firefox problem. Thanks!

Ran a Malware search and have none on my computer. It is doing the same thing in Chrome. Driving me nuts.
