I use Windows 10 Pro and Tbird ver. 68.1.0 (64-bit). Help> About Tbird says I'm up to date yet every morning I get a small window that asks me if I would like to update Tbird. Why is this if I'm up-to-date? Second, I tried the update and the update opened as a new install w/o incorporating anything such as my existing sent messages, trash, contacts and most importantly my local folders. How best to handle this if in fact it really is a update?

Thanks.

Download the full installer from https://www.thunderbird.net/thunderbird/all/ and run it. This will update your existing installation to the latest release version.

I have the same problem on a Mac with the 64-bit version without Kaspersky installed. I do have Avast antivirus but I somewhat doubt that this has anything to do with it...

I have downloaded Thb via download of the current version at least three times already. And just now I got the notification even though I already am on 68.3.0 (currently the newest release).
