After having been upgraded to TB version 78, I've spent the last hour and a half reading through the community help areas and agreeing with users who say their important extensions don't work with Ver. 78 and I want to go back! I've read about "download ver. 68" and follow these X-steps.

Well, I'm stumped at simply trying to locate Ver. 68! I've searched every way I know, and all I find is Ver. 68.12.0 Release Notes. Nowhere can I find "download".

Feel pretty stupid right now if I can't even FIND the Ver. 68 file!

Can someone please direct me to the download file?

Oh, and once I find the file, I read that I'm supposed to uninstall Ver. 78 and then install Ver. 68. What happens to all my emails if I uninstall ver. 78? Won't uninstalling 78 delete them?

TIA, Sewlady

Download v68.12.1 from here https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/68.12.1/win32/en-US/

No, it won't delete your emails, but before you uninstall v78, export your address books to LDIF format. After you install v68, run it with the --allow-downgrade commandline switch so that it can re-open your v78 modified profile then import the address books.

Or, if you were to post which add-on you most need, someone might help you stay on version 78

Wayne, thank you for your reply. The time I did an upgrade (before 78), one of the add-ons that I used several times a day stopped working. I finally found another add-on that worked, but it took quite a while. I didn't want to bug the first add-on's author after the first contact I made, even though I never got a reply.

Of all the add-ons I had before 78, only 3 worked after the update. Those add-ons made my TB life so useful and not having them was really stressful. I understand that updating an add-on can take a lot of work and I have no expectations that the author will continue to support it.

Again, thank you for your suggestion. I do appreciate all the help that is offered throughout the support forums. And now I'm back up and running Ver. 68! Yay!
