Firefox Browser 89.0.2 (64-Bit) opening a OpenOffice Document (docx) causes a never-ending opening of new tabs

By mistake I connected an OpenOffice document with the extention 'docx' to Firefox. Opening this document started Firefox (not surprisingly) but then Firefox went into a never-ending loop of opening new tabs. Closing the browser did not repair this because the problem continued as soon as I opened the Browser again directly. The only way to stop this loop was by ending the Firefox Process in Task Manager, and, of course, removing the link between this kind of document and Firefox.

Preferably Firefox should have stated it cannot open this type of file and just ignored it.

You get tabs opening endlessly if you select Firefox as the application to handle a file when you get an "Open with" dialog.
