How to change White background while page is loading in Dark Mode.
Sleep disorderland denizen here. i use dark mode a lot and love it. The problem is the sudden flash of white background when i open a new tab before the page loads. Is there anyway to override/change that also to black permanently. Thank you.

Hi praveen.venmani, I enjoy Dark mode also, and I have only been able to minimize the "flash" to something more like a "pulse" -
Menu -> Settings -> General -> Language and Appearance select the Dark scheme
and
Menu -> Add-ons and themes -> Themes select the Dark theme
and last, add the Dark Reader extension
Dark Reader https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/darkreader/
Hi RobertJ, Thank you for your reply. Yes I already have these steps enabled. Dark Reader especially is a godsend for stubborn websites :D But when a new tab is opened with either right-click&search or following a link , the sudden white background is so jarring, i think the contrast hurts my eyes more than keeping FF in light mode with the brightness low. I'm not completely sure if this was always the case but i was not so acutely aware of this problem earlier. Seems like a major flaw that really harms the primary eye-strain reduction purpose of Dark mode. Is there someway of attracting the dev teams' attention to this? Thanks again.
There's a new site which is closer to the Dev Team in the chain -
Mozilla Connect https://connect.mozilla.org/
where you can submit Ideas and join in Discussions about issues.
Addendum: JFTR I also have "layout.css.prefers-color-scheme.content-override" in about:config set to '0'. But the initial white background persists on new page load persists.
Like I said earlier, I only get a short "pulse" of white when I launch Firefox. And no real issue when opening a new tab. This issue isn't only with Firefox. When I launch Brave browser, I have to close my eyes for 2-3 seconds. They have NO remedies.
There might be some other ways to reduce or eliminate the problem discussed at Mozilla Connect or even other forums like reddit.
If I figure out anything new I'll certainly let everyone know about it.
