Unable to send email; SMTP error
For the past few days I have intermittently had a problem sending email. I get email from Spectrum, my ISP. When I try to send I get this message: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: p-impout007.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net cmsmtp 173.211.127.45 blocked. Please see https://www.spectrum.net/support/internet/understanding-email-error-codes for more information. AUP#Out-1130.
When I go to the indicated website and look up error 1130, this is what I get: The IP address you’re trying to connect from has an issue with the Domain Name System. Spectrum requires a full circle DNS for emails to be allowed through. Verify the IP you’re connecting from, and check the IP address to ensure a reverse DNS entry exists for the IP. If the IP address is a Spectrum-provided email address, contact us.
Note my email address is not Spectrum provided.

So, since the error message says to contact Spectrum, that seems a good approach. I did locate a thread that is similar that may prove useful to you - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1440542

My understanding is that charter is part of spectrum. What is domain name of your email account?
Yes, Charter is part of Spectrum, or maybe Spectrum is part of Charter, I've never been clear on this. In any event the domain is @ca.rr.com

Hello David
Thank you for the link, it solved my problem, which was a VPN I installed about the same time as when the send issue started. My problem was intermittent because the VPN seems to randomly connect and disconnect. In any event, as long as I disconnect before sending a message everything works fine.
FYI I did contact Spectrum before posting here. However, as I suspected would be the case, Spectrum said that since I was able to send from their (incredibly slow) webmail that this was a TB issue, not a Spectrum issue.
It is unfortunate that Spectrum appears to ignore its customers, as I see that routinely here. I'm glad all is okay for you. :)
