I see text superimposed over text, such as the first line of a paragraph and its second line trying to occupty the same space. How do I fix this?

This happens chronically with certain pages. Text superimposed over text or over graphics. It's just out of place by fractions of an inch.

When I compare the same page on Internet Explorer, the IE shows correctly and the Firefox one does not. Sometimes elements appear to be missing (such as a "Submit" button), but they are actually there hidden.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: View > Zoom > Reset (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac) See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Zoom_text_of_web_pages

If you increased the minimum font size then try the default setting 'none' as a high value can cause issues like you described.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

If you need to increase (or decrease) the font size on websites then look at the NoSquint or Default FullZoom Level extension.
