I get notices writing to script; much worse since Firefox4. I can hardly use my computer.
notices say script has stopped writing. do you want to....? notice appears frequently. computer has slowed to crawl. seems much worse since downloading firefox4

Go to Tools | Add-ons | Plugins and disable Browserplus.
If Firefox functions properly afterwards, uninstall it, instructions here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/browserplus/uninstall.html
You can also restart Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode which disables extensions, but not plugins. If it works in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.
I have tried it now I will see if I get more notes. Thank you.
OK, post again if the problem persists.
I just opened and had a script running note. It was quite long and referenced ymail which was the page I had left open. The warning window closed after several tries. My computer is running but ymail is very slow

Try updating Java to the latest version which is 1.6.0_24 via Windows Control Panel. You'll see the link to Java in there.
