The .aspx file came from a site. the gnome file browser says it's a PDF document. However, when I open it using document viewer, all I see is some sort of a frame, lines, clearly missing much text and figures. Do I need some plug-in which I'm missing?

  • .aspx files are web pages written in a proprietary language from Microsoft. (Active Server Pages eXtended)

Really, the only browser that loads them reliably is Internet Explorer. What I have been doing is keeping a Windows installation in a virtual box and when the time comes to, say, pay my electric bill (Portland General Electric ONLY uses *.aspx pages), I load the site under Windows.

Such problems are usually caused by websites not recognizing your Ubuntu branded user agent and the solution is to remove extras added by Ubuntu via a general.useragent.override pref.
