When I open a new tab in Fierfox a strange www-addres appears in one of the panes in the new tab.
When openin a new tab in Firefox I get a strange www-address I haven't used in one the panes. Even though I click the erase button, the address will appear next time I open firefox. Do I have a virus in my computer which hads added the the www-address? I do not know how to erase the site.

Try to open the site to get a new history entry and use "Forget About This Site" to remove all references to it.
You can remove all stored data from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry (Show All History or History sidebar and sort by last visit date).
Thank you for your reply. I tried to remove the www-site from history panel by right-clicking the address name. However, it did not remove the address. Is there any other ways to try to remove the site?
You can check for problems caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
