Checkbox does work in IE, not in FF

I use Joomla 2.5.6 and FF 14.0.1. In Joomla you can check boxes to select f.i. multiple articles. Then you can hit a button to remove those selected articles. If I do so in FF, I get the message I first have to check boxes in the list, while I did so. In IE it works fine. I've started FF in safemode, but it still doesn't work.

Is this a known issue, and if so, what's the solution?

Solution choisie

According to a post on the Joomla forum (Joomla! • View topic - broken checkboxes in 2.5.6), this might be due to inconsistent files in your browser cache.

Try:

1. Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

If that doesn't help:

2. Clear Firefox's Cache Completely

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

Then try reloading the page and test again. Any improvement?

By the way, Firefox 15 is out now. If you had problems with it and downgraded, could you describe the problems you had?
