I have installed the developer toolbar and it is not visible, and not listed in the View-toolbars menu either. Do I need to enable it? Mac OSX

You installed Chris Pederick's Web Developer Toolbar extension?

To toggle which toolbars are showing, you can do this:

tap the Alt key > View menu > Toolbars > Web Developer Toolbar

(Note: You posted using Chrome, but I am answering in relation to Firefox)

Also, to confirm that the extension is installed and enabled, you can check here:

Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category
